大家下午好!我是来自郧阳师范高等专科学校的教师冯晓华,今天我说课的题目是旅游英语。
Travel English is a vocational course for the business english major, it is one of the compulsory course which focuses not only on the pratical skills but also listening ,speaking and intercommunicaion skills .
To be a qulified teacher , we should make several conceptions and ideas before preparing a new lesson , a good conception can lead us to gain the good effects of our teachings, that’s the teacher’s obligation and task ,so today I will show my ideas about travle english with you .

If we want to have a good teaching plan ,firstly we should know the positioning of this course . that’s why I mentinon this part .
As I mentioned above , travel english is a compulsory course in bussiness english . the object of the bussiness english is to satisfy
the
student’s
requirements
and
needs
for
skiils ,knowledge and job-hunting . On the other hand ,travel english want to develop all
rounder and want to cultivate the apllication-based talent . finally ,we should also take the professional qulification into consideration , that can help us to get the clear destination of this course eaysily.
The industy analysis ,the job analysis and the job task analysis .(This idea is substracted form famous expert zhaozhiqun ,he annouced high qulities of our course construcion should rely on the vocaional and job analysis )
(1)For the industy analysis , according to the information of the human resource demanding in shanghai touist job center ,we can know there will be a higher standard for the students. Related to our local place ,our government make strong efforts to construct a tourist area in the northwest of hubei province ,so we can know there will be a large demand for english tour guide.
(2)For the job analysis , wudang mountain as one of the 5A degree scenic spots in china, many foreigners will come here for a tour ,so that needs our students control much more comprehensive abilties :
There are five skills included here. (汉语表述) 1.The skill of front desk reception 前厅接待技能 2.The skill of housekeeping service 客房服务技能 3.The skill of restaurant service 餐厅服务技能
4.The skill of travel angency receiption 旅行社接待技能 5. The skill of foreign tour guide 涉外导游技能
(3)For the job task analysis ,there are two detailed task here. 1.to be a qulified tour guide .
2.to acquire the foreign tour guide id card .
based on the 3 analysis ,we have a clear destination of this course, generally speaking ,to cultivate a qulified english tour guide .
there are several detailed points here: 1.to learn the theoretical knowledge 2.to enhance the oral english abilty
3.to accumulate the applied skills in tourist industry and hotel management.
4.to improve the comphrehensive cultural qualities
there are 4 points here establish a solid foundation for students ,and also help the students to make great contribution to the social development and ecomomic construction,
二,课程内容
For the course contents ,
We start this course in the second semester for the sophomore.
There are two books we used for students.
This is an additional teaching material .This book is wirrtten by our headmater , professor yang lizhi.This book is a speciality in our school even though in our country which stand for our native cultural characteristic ;
Combining with the real foudation of our students ,we divide our teaching system into 2 parts .
1.travel service 2.hotel service
for the 2 different services ,there included 5 skills together which I mentioned before.
For each skill , they have sevral useful language skills . For example,……………………………………… Welcome to our hotel. 欢迎来到酒店。
Please mind your hands in the revolving door. 走旋转门时当心您的手。
After you ,please! The reception desk is straight ahead. 您先请,接待台就在前面。
We show several useful sentence patterns which are commonly use in our daily life .
When the students master these fix patterns ,they can deal with different siuations in their posts.

After we have a clear syllabus , we continue to think about how to arrange these lessons in a reasonable way , that is teching designing.
Base on the job task, we have a suitable teching designing ,we take a detailed project as a supporter,(to be an english tour guide in wudang mountain )to construct 7 different learning situations.

For every situation , generally speaking , there are 6 steps for teaching.
Step1 :Revision Step2:Lead-in Step3:Introduction Step4: Useful expressions Step5:Situational practices Step6:Interaction
I will take lesson one----welcome speech as an example to introduce my teacing procedure .
步骤一:Revision
There are 2 questions for students ,for example: 1.What is tourism?
2. The professional Qualifications for Being a Good Tour Guide.
For this part we go over the lessons we have learned in the last class ,and help the student memorize the main points of our teaching .
步骤二: Lead-in
We take the job task as a thread to develop this lesson. If you are a tour guide in wudang moutain how to give a reception?
We give a situation for students ,and also a task for sutdents which can arose the student’s attention and find out which is the main content of this lesson .
That is our aim of this step. 步骤三: Introduction
For step 3, we show the students several writing skills of welcome speech .
And for every point ,we give sentence patterns for student to control.
For example:
(For the welcome )表示欢迎:On behalf of …..(the travel service), I’d like to exten d a warm welcome to all of you. .
(For the introducion )介绍人员:let me introduce my Chinese colleagues to you。
Let me introduce my team first. Mr. Wang is our driver. He has 20 years of driving under his belt, so you're in very safe hands.
(For the attitude)表示态度:I shall try my best to offer you the best guiding service and make your trip pleasant and happy.
(For the results )预祝成果: We highly appreciate your
understanding and cooperation.
I hope you will enjoy your stay in our city.
If the students master the writing skills ,they can give a welcome speech in different scenic spots. This is the basic kownledge for sutudents.
步骤四: Useful expressions
For the useful expressions ,We know our task is based on the wudang moutain tour guide, so there are several expressions related to Wudang mountain.

We show the picture to the students ,and let the students to make the brife introduction of the wudang mountian ,
After the students give the introduction ,we will show the students the reference, And help the students to find out which point they have missed ,this step can give them a deep impression of wudang mountain.
步骤六. Interaction
For the interaction ,we give different situations here ,and want students to make practical use of konwledge , and instruct the students to master the applied skills of reiception.
Situation 1:If a foreigner want to vistit(Jingle Palace-purity joy palace),how to give a receiption and give a brief introdution ?
Situation 2:how to give a brief introduction of Beijing? 四、教学方法.
After we have a reasonable teaching designing ,we should know through which ways we can achieve the best teaching
effects . that needs us think thoroughly. Nowadays ,there are 4 major factors which effect the english teaching.
1.Emotional factor 2.Interest factor 3.Cutural differences 4.Studing atomsphere
So ,we should make use of this facotors to arose the students attentions and improve our teaching qualities.
We chang the traditonal teaching methods to cultivate the student’s practical skiils and applied abilties. We set an good example for the bussiness english in teaching methods ,ideas and thougths.
In additon, We invite the famous expert to give students lectures .
Above all , We use different new teaching methods to realize the goals of our teaching.
For instance:There are 5 concorete methods below: 1.interaction teaching
we pay much attention to the oral englsih practice and interaction activities.
We carry out 3 modes all together to arose student’s enthusiam.(student-centered, object-centered, society-centered)
2. practical traning
we take the imitational practice ,bring the students to the scenic spots nearby, give the instruction of the skills and help the students to master the practical skills easily.

dialogue ,make cd, through different ways ,let students enhance their confidence and are also proud of their achivement so that t
establish a harmonious studying atomsphere.
4. using mutilmedia facilties
we show different resources to the students ,for example ,we give the students several useful websites, these can help the students to acquire abundant konwledge and information related to the tourist english.
5. establish the practical traning places :
We establish the practical traning places such as (上海世纪虹口大酒店,温州维多利亚大酒店等),with the cooperation of school and company, we realize the integration of learning and practicing teaching mode which adpt to the solgan of the vocational education.
五.教学评价
Through this course ,we have achieve many good effects. Firstly , for the students:
1.We can make the students to master the basic knowledge of travel english.
Cultivate their abilities of intercommunicating with foreigners and serving for the tourists.
2. to promote the professinal skills related to tourism industry and hotel management.
3.to improve their applied abilities and raise their awareness of asvertising their
hometown’s culture.
4.to educate students to establish correct moral standards love their motherland ,love their hometowns.
5.to establish a solid foundation for students , sevreal students acquire the tour guide id
card and ideal jobs through some competitions directely. (here show some examples of our students’s qulifications)

六.课程特色与创新
For the special characteristic and innovation, I will say 3 points.
1.We rely on the predominance of our school--Wudang
culture to originate the school-featured course firstly.This special course shows a diversified style of Humanistic quality education, local historical cultural education and creation education.
Here , I must declare,wudang culture is the speciality of our school which not only studied deeply for the wudang culture but also make sense to understand the taoism compeletly and promte the chinese traditional culture.
2.We take a project as a supporter, tourism in Wudang moutain. We combine the practising with learning according to the development of our tour guide, To achieve the integration of class learning and practical tranning.
3.We closely tied to the needs of the local economic and social development, to cultivate a new group of the application-based talent who serve for the Wudang tourist industry and make contribution to the development of ecological cultural area in the northwest of Hubei province.
