Should parents send their kids to art classes？

It has become a prevailing trend for parents to send their children to art classes of all kinds. To this phenomenon,some people hold the positive view. They claim that attending art classes can help nurture children’s interest and tap their potentials in such art as painting, music and dancing. This, they believe, will contribute to children’s all-round development. Others, however, hold the opposite view. They argue that not all children are interested or talented in art, or a child may not be fond of all forms of art. Forcing these children to art classes will burden the children already buried in piles of school work. Worse still, it deprives them of right and chances to discover their hidden talents.

Personally, I believe that art education benefits children, that going to art classes is an effective means to find out and give full play to children’s talent in art and it is conductive to their sound development. But before deciding what kind of art class to send their children to, parents should take the kids’ interests and will into consideration. After all, as the saying goes, the fittest is the best.
