摘要：A video data searching method and system and a video data editing method andsystem suitable for searching and editing of video data are disclosed. In order to searchvideo data which are contents recorded in a video database, attendant informationrecorded incidentally to the video data is utilized as information representative of the

contents, and if an attendant information search condition is given as a given condition,then an attendant information readout section reads in the attendant information fromthe video database, and an attendant information search section searches the attendantinformation based on the search condition to determine a pertaining attendantinformation. Thus, video data which make an object can be specified only from theattendant information without opening the video data. Then, a video data searchingsection fetches pertaining video data from the video database based on the attendantinformation.
