A watertight sealassembly 7 on the exterior surface of a floating structure A comprises a plurality oflongitudinally extending wall members 8 having a U-shaped transverse section, bolts 17for securing adjacent wall members together at their abutting ends, a first sealingmember 14 at each joint between adjacent wall members and combining with bolts 17 tosecure the wall members together, and second sealing members 12, 18 located alongthe longitudinally extending edges of the wall members. Shackles 20 attached to the wallmembers secure the assembly through cables 25 to the surface of the floating structurealong the longitudinally extending edges of the wall members to form a watertightcompartment. The assembly permits either the cutting of a floating structure into twoseparate sections or the joining together of two separate sections of the structure. In theembodiment described the wall members are of sheet metal.
