摘要：A storm resistant window has a window frame and a window sash of preferably-aluminum extruded frame members, a glass and polymer safety glass, clamping glazingbeads that bear sealingly on the glass, and a sash locking clasp arrangement. The windowresists impacts characteristic of windblown hurricane debris, for example, and is resilientenough to damp wind loads induced by 75 mph (120 kph) winds, with resilient arching andtwisting of the frame members. The clamping glazing beads are snap- fitted to locktightly in the associated superstructure around the glazing, deforming resilientweatherseals against the outer surface of the safety glass. The safety glass hascoextensive annealed glass and polymer layers. An additional polymer strip and a beadof adhesive affix the glazing on the inside for resisting abrasion of the polymer sideagainst the frame. The window includes a latch for a positive locking connection betweenthe frame and the sash within the frame.
