My hero in my heart

What is a hero? I think a hero is a person who can affect you very deep. They can be a great man like Chairmen Mao; they also can be a famous star; But in my heart, the real hero is Tu youyou, the first Chinese woman national to win a Nobel prize in science.

Tu youyou, a famous female chemist and scientist, was born in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province on December 30th, 1930. In 1951,she was admitted into Beijing University, majoring in making medicine and graduated in 1955. After graduation she was trained in traditional Chinese medicine for two years and a half and she has been working in China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Beijing. In 1972, she succeeded in discovering and developing Artemisinin out of a Chinese herb to cure those patients of malaria in different places of the world , for which she won many big awards. And the Artemisinin, Known as the \"save the 200 million population\" found. To our excitement and delight , she was awarded the Nobel Prize in Medicine on October 5th, 2015, becoming the first Chinese woman to win the Nobel Prize. “Artemisinin is a gift for the world people from the traditional Chinese medicine. It is of great significance for curing malaria and other infectious diseases and for protecting the health of the world people,” Tu said in Beijing.

However, there is a tremendous effort behind this great discovery. The experiment used artemisinin Tu 200 kinds of traditional Chinese medicine ,after more than 300 failures. The sweat is much more than honor that we can see. I think

the significance is not in the awards, but is committed to the scientific spirit of Tu. This spirit, from the love of the country, the science of dedication. As high school students, we also need to learn this spirit.

Tu youyou’s experience let me have very deep inspiration. From then on , I had an belief: If you stick to your faith, keep on, and have the spirit of dedication, you are a man of value. Tu youyou is the real hero in my heart!
