The researchers studied students aged 10 to 17 with laptop programmes. They found that about 60% said they felt uncomfortable, mostly in the neck and shoulder areas.

Part of the problem is that many of today’s computer games aren’t specially designed for children’s hands. Also most keyboards and computer mouses are too big for them. When children use the computer, they’re usually sitting in an adult-sized chair facing an adult-sized desk. And they need to take breaks—once every 20 minutes—where they get up for at least two minutes and walk.

By the 1940s, there were very few folk artists who could sing the whole Twelve Muqam, and the art form had been brought to the danger of being lost.
