摘要：PURPOSE:To promote the form stability, breakdown strength, corrosion andfatigue resistance and flexibility of a bead ring for a vehicle tire, by providing rubberlayers of prescribed thicknesses over, under and beside flat hard steel wires of paralleltop and bottom and winding the wires and the rubber layers. CONSTITUTION:Flat hardsteel wires 4a-4d with an oblong cross section of 2.0mm. in width and 1.3mm. in thicknessare coated with rubber 5 so that a horizontal thickness (a) is 0.3 to 0.5mm. and a half of avertical thickness (b) is 0.05 to 0.15mm.. A layer 6 is thus composed of the wires 4a-4dand the coating rubber 5. The layer 6 is wound and stratified by plurae rounds so that abead ring 7 is provided. According to this constitution, the form of the bead ring 7 isstabilized, its breakdown strength and corrosion and fatigue resistance are improved, andits flexibility is promoted by prescribing the thicknesses of the rubber 5.
